Distance

Distance. 

I often write letters to you with words I want you to read. 
I often imagine if you'd read them and smile. 
But then I fear what if you don't! 
I often think I'll send you a post.
But then I don't, because what if you're lost!

I am elated that you're a friend,
I am sad that you're just a friend,
There is this distance between you and me,
Stopping us from becoming a we.
